The future of sailing education

The XRNAUT SAILOR PRO-RX delivers a unique boat-handling simulation experience through the combination of a realistic helm console and VR headset.

You can find the simulator at Marine Liptov, available as part of scheduled courses or upon individual request.

Realistic experience

The console is built from genuine marine components—you’ll be steering a 70cm stainless steel wheel and using a Teleflex single-lever throttle. A highly realistic experience that goes beyond standard VR simulations.

Clear Information Display

A dedicated spectator screen shows all navigation data along with a first-person view, making it the perfect tool for training and skill development at any level of recreational skippering.

Customizable Environment

From wind strength and direction to current flow and marina layout, you can configure any situation. Practice even the most challenging maneuvers without fear of consequences—and prepare yourself for anything that might come your way at sea.

Practical and realistic VR maneuver simulator

As a novice land captain who doesn’t get to practice port maneuvers as often as he’d like, I really appreciated being able to practice them in this VR simulator. Especially before the upcoming family vacation on the boat, it was very helpful to be able to safely repeat and practice the maneuvers in advance.

The simulator pleasantly surprised with the realistic behavior of ships on the water. It takes into account both propwash and propwalk, with behavior varying by boat type. I tried maneuvering with a boat with one or two rudders, as well as different ways of parking – sideways, the so-called Croatian mooring, and even the Greek way with an anchor. A practical function is also the possibility of virtual mooring, which allows you to practice the entire procedure of parking in the port, including working with windward ropes and springs.

The simulation allows you to adjust the direction and strength of the wind, so you can practice maneuvers in different weather conditions – including situations where the wind pushes the boat onto the pier or blows it away from it.

The sound side was processed beyond expectations. Hear the sound of the engine depending on the speed, the ropes hitting the mast or the sound of the wind, which significantly enhances the impression of a real experience. Although the graphics could be a little more detailed, it did not hinder the smooth and efficient use in any way.

All in all, it is a very useful tool for anyone who wants to improve their confidence when maneuvering without stress and risk. Personally, it significantly increased my self-confidence before the holiday and I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their maneuvering skills – ideally with regular training in this simulator.

At the same time, the software creates its own user account, so it is possible to track progress and return to specific situations that a person has already solved. An excellent tool for systematic improvement.”

“Trying out port maneuvers through virtual reality was definitely an interesting experience. In real life, I certainly wouldn’t have had the courage to park the boat by backing up between the pier and another boat. I was surprised how much the boat’s maneuverability changed when the instructor added more wind.

The children liked collecting stars as in some computer game, along with which they actually left the port. And of course, controlled crashes also had something in them – you just want to try it somewhere deep in your soul, but it’s too expensive fun live. The shipwreck is also graphically interesting here – you have the feeling that the deck is really tilting with the ship and you are going into the depths

It’s clearly fun even for laymen without a captain’s license and more knowledge about steering a ship. It can also be thought of as a fun afternoon with the whole family. Definitely recommend.”
