This weekend consist of two courses and attendees will receive two certificates if succesfull.
The day one is dedicated to the RYA Basic Sea Survival course. This course prepares you to stay alive in an emergency. It will show you how to make the best use of a liferaft and you will learn some basic survival techniqes. Part of this is a 2 hrs pool session where you get a chance to try som real-life scenarios that might come into play once you decide to abandon your boat into the liferaft. This course can be taken separately as a one day course.
The second day continues with another parts of syllabus of the World Sailing Personal Offshore Survival course. This is training for recreational and racing skippers and crews who encounter rough weather and problems at sea. The certificate awarded conforms with the eligibility requirements of section 6.01 of the ISAF Special Regulations for category 0, 1 and some category 2 offshore races. Part of this course is practical training including firefighting, use of flares and other safety equipement commonly onboard a recrational or racing vessel. To gain the full certification it is necessary to attend the full weekend – both days of the course.

The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) sailing qualifications have been voted the premiere sailing accreditation for excellence and global reputation following a recent survey targeting 200 professional yacht and motorboat charter companies. The professional charter companies that were surveyed own and manage in excess of 6,000 charter boats across the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Asia.
